Which of the following complex is/are homoleptic:

a.  \( {\left[\mathrm{Co}\left(\mathrm{NH}_3\right)_6\right]^{3+}} \) b. \( {\left[\mathrm{Co}\left(\mathrm{NH}_3\right)_5 \mathrm{Cl}\right]^{2+}} \)
c. \( {\left[\mathrm{Ni}(\mathrm{CN})_4\right]^{2-}}\) d. \(\left[\mathrm{Ni}\left(\mathrm{NH}_3\right)_4 \mathrm{Cl}_2\right]\)

Choose the correct option.
1. (a, b)
2. (b, c)
3. (c, d)
4. (a, c)

Homoleptic complex: The complex containing only one type of species or group as ligands is known as a homoleptic complex.

e.g., Co(NH3)63+, Ni(CN)42-

Here, Co(NH3)63+ contains only NH3 as a ligand and Ni(CN)42- contains CN as a ligand.

While the other two complexes Co(NH3)5Cl2+ and Ni(NH3)4Cl2 contain NHand Cl as ligands.

Hence,  4th is the correct option.
