Methanogens do not produce

In the digestors (during eacondary treatment of waste water), heteratraphic microhas

(methanogens) anaerobically digest bacteria and fungi in sludge producing mixture of

gases such as methane, hydrogen sulphide and CO₂, which form the biogas. The O. is

not produced by methanogens.
